A former Child Soldier is coming to Japan!
For the World Day Against Child Labour campaign in June, Free The children Japan will present a former child soldier from Democratic Republic of the Congo, Michel Chikwanine. Plaese join us and let’s stop Child Labour together!
1. <<“I really want to go to school!” rally 2012 in Midōsuji, Osaka>>
We will be walking around Midōsuji together and protest against child labour.
Michel will NOT be at this event.
Date: Sunday, June 3
Time: 1:45pm to 4:00pm
Place: We will be meeting in front of the Megami no Zou (Statue of Goddess) at Nakanoshima Park near Yodoyabashi station.
Cost: Free
2. <<A former child soldier speaks against child labour>>
Free The Children Japan and Wesley Foundation will be sponsoring an event together to hear from a former child soldier, Michel Chikwanine.
This event will mainly be in English.
Date: Friday, June 8

A former child soldier, Michel Chikwanine will be giving a speech.
Date: Saturday, June 9
Time: 11:00am to -4:00pm
Place: Chikahiroba (basement space) in front of Sapporo station.
Cost: Free
Registration is not needed
4. <<World Day Against Child Labour>>
A former child soldier, Michel Chikwanine will be giving a speech.
Also, Free The Children “Action Kids” will be performing a play based on child soldiers.
There also will be a panel discussions led by anti-child labour experts.

5. <<Talk session with a former child soldier Michel Chikwanine: “What can we do?” in Tokyo>>
This is an event organized by FTCJ kids members.
Students will listen to Michel’s speech and have a discussion with him.
Date: Tuesday, June 12
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm (Doors open at 6pm)
Place: Kitazawa Town Hall 12th Floor, Sky Salon Room (near Shimokitazawa station)

This event is available only for 60 participants, so FTCJ members will have a higher priority to attend the event.
6. <<”Kids don’t wanna work!! Anti-child labour parade>>
We will be walking around Shibuya together and protest against child labour.
Date: Sunday, June 17
Time: 2pm to 5pm
Place: Start at Miyashita Park and end at Jingu Park.
Cost: Free
