[Health Support Program] Update of Baraka Hospital, Kenya（1/2）

We received status update of Baraka hospital from our partner organization WE Charity Foundation（WCF）.
Baraka hospital was established by WE Charity (former organization of WCF) in 2013.
We’ve supported there since then.
At Baraka Hospital in the Maasai Mara, we’ve worked with a generous partner to launch one of the most ambitious efforts in our history: 1,600 surgeries in 30 days.
Six surgeries are happening at a time, all day, every day.

This time, we became able to provide advanced medical care by accepting medical specialists from other hospital in Kenya.
From restoring sight to elders who’ve lived in darkness, to repairing fistulas for women who’ve suffered in silence — it’s hard to overstate the dignity and hope being restored.

Hundreds of patients walked through the night to arrive by 6 a.m., greeted by a team of surgeons, nurses, community health workers, and nursing students from Kisaruni Legacy College.
A few moments stand out:
- A woman in active labour experienced a sudden uterine rupture at the maternity ward. Thanks to the surgical team on site, both she and her baby survived — a truly life-saving moment.
- One of the visiting funders named Michael met Joseph, his matched patient, during post-op recovery. So moved by the encounter, Michael later shared that he and his wife plan to name their soon-to-arrive son “Joey” — in Joseph’s honour.
The stories are countless, but above all, there is a feeling of healing, of being seen, and of a community coming together with bold compassion.
These kinds of moments are only possible because of the foundation built by years of shared belief and support. I’ve included a few photos below that capture just a glimpse of the spirit on the ground.
