FTCJ trip to the Philippines in March 2013!!

Free The Children Japan (FTCJ) is a non-profit organization whose goals are to free
children from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion that
they are powerless to affect positive change in the world. We support needy children
in India, Mongolia, Kenya, Haiti and the Philippines. And we will be having a
Volunteer and Leadership Trip to the Philippines in March 2013!

On this trip, we provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to immerse
yourself in Philippines’ cultural diversity and stark economic contrasts.
You’ll meet Fair Trade producers, indigenous people and children we
support, and interact with them.
You will get a hands-on learning and significant experience out there.
In the Metro Manila, we will visit a slum area and learn the situation of working
children.

【Visiting Region】The Philippines (Metro Manila and Olongapo)
【Travel Schedule】March/20/2013 – Depart Narita March/27/2013 Arrive Narita
【Registration Fee】Student168,000yen / Adult174,000yen
*The fuel surcharge fee and the airport tax, etc. are NOT included.
*If you would like to stay in a single room, you need to pay extra amount. Please
ask us about it.
*Travel Insurance is NOT included. Each person must arrange their own.
【Who can apply?】Junior high School Students or older who are willing to become a
member of FTCJ
*Please register as an FTCJ member.
*Students younger than junior high school must have their parent or guardian
participate.
【Briefing】The briefing will be held in the FTCJ office by the following schedule.
Dec/21/2012 5:30PM-6:30PM, Jan/26/2013 3:00PM-4:00PM
【Number of Participants】16 participants (a minimum of 7 participants)

20th March(Wed): Meeting at the Narita Airport (7:30am); to Manila, Philippines
21th March(Thu): Visiting producers of fair trade
22th March(Fri): Visiting indigenous people community, volunteer activity
23th March(Sat): Meeting children who we support (Some of them were street children)
24th March(Sun): Sighting in historical places of Metro Manila
25th March(Mon): Visiting slum areas and home-stay
26th March(Tue): Visiting places where children are working
27th March(Wed): Free time; back to Japan

FTCJ Take Action Academy in Japan 2013 !!

Free The Children Japan(FTCJ) is pleased to invite you to participate
in our Take Action Academy in Japan 2013.

FTCJ is a non-profit organization whose goals are to free children
from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion
that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world. We
support needy children in India, Mongolia, Kenya, Haiti and the
Philippines. And we will be having a ‘Take Action Academy in Japan
2013′ in coming March.

The Take Action Academy is an intense four-days program for young
people (ages 8 through 18) from around Japan, social justice-themed
Spring camps, designed to give young people leadership skills,
confidence and peer support to improve not only themselves, but their
world.

For the academy, we will invite 2 special guests from India!
(An Indian youth who is a former child labourer and a child rights
activist from our parner NGO in India)

We guarantee that this program provides you a great step to start your
actions for social issues to change the world!

◆TAAJ2013 Guidelines for applicants◆
【Location】Youth House of Kawasaki,located in Kanagawa Prefecture,Japan.
(By train, take Tokyu-denentoshi line to “Miyazakidai” station then
1. Have12 minutes walk from the station or
2. Take the bus No.6 departing from the station and get off at “Toranomon Byouin Bunin” then 2 minutes walk. )
【Course】March 27th , 2013 [13:00 pm] – March 30th, 2013[15:00pm] 3nights 4days
【Fees】 17,000 yen (Participation fee covers accommodation and all meals. ※Insurance fees are NOT included)
【Target】From fifth grade students to high school students
【Deadline for primary application】February 28th [Thu]
【Deadline for adding application】March 8th [Fri]
【Number of candidates】30 *We will stop accepting applications when it reaches the fixed number
【Transportation fee coverage】We will subsidize 30% of transportation expenses if round trip fees cost more than 10000yen.[maximum 10000yen]
